This
is the view into our Glen.
The Heather Honey featured on our site, which is made at
the bottom of the Glen, is made from the nectar of bees who
collect over these hills.
It is also one of the most wonderful Glens for wildlife
having a mix of moorland, hill and, in the valley of the Glen,
farming.
It is also the resting place of a Pict leader
called “Ardle”.
History has it that he was a giant.
His grave, still visible today, is certainly over 7 feet
long.

This view is looking back up the
glen over the local village school. The school currently
has 11 pupils between age 5 and 11, although it has been down as
low as 4 pupils. In the background is the Cairngorms, home
of golden eagles, mountain hare as well as many, many red deer.

Our ace pilot is shown here moving
equipment for the Forestry Commission into a remote part of a
forest. This helicopter (Kensington Aviation) is based in
the next glen to us and last year was used to bring dozens of
Christmas trees out of the forest in a single lift.

This winter we have had temperatures
down to -12C and this is the effect. The coldest
temperature locally has been -23C six years ago but the record
for Scotland is -29C. We often get very crisp, bright
weather with the cold making for spectacular scenery and giving
a welcome lift to the spirits in winter.
